Review and Swatch of Inglot AMC Lip Pencil/Crayon in Shade 23

Review and Swatch of Inglot AMC Lip Pencil/Crayon in Shade 23

Annoyance comes to me with legacy. Though I have toned down after I started working or even further, getting married, there are a few things that still annoy me to the core.  A wailing kid on the flight/ train, a snoring partner and a gold digger. Off late, there is a new addition in the list- soaring prices of cosmetics in India.

Inglot, MAC, you name it. All of them have increased the prices of most of their line items by not just margins. Almost 200-300 bucks increment!! Phew!!! Being a Beauty Blogger is turning into a costly affair! But when your interests lie deep, you are ready to dive.

My latest pick from the Inglot store is their Lip Pencil/Crayon in Shade 23 (curse their names, I don’t recall half of the time when people ask me which shade am I wearing).

Inglot Says:

“Avocado oil moisturizes, smoothens and regenerates the lips whilst the modern formula ensures a long lasting even coverage with a velvety matte finish.”

Price: INR 850 per 1.8 gm
Shelf life: 3 years

My Verdict:

Inglot AMC Lip Pencil/Crayon comes in 23 shades matte shades. All the shades are so much wearable for an everyday look. They are muted and subtle. Being matte makes it even more wearable.

The Shade 23 is a dusty rose lip wear. On the SA who had pale lips, it looked rosier. On my pigmented purple lips the shade appears muted terracotta rose. The shade matches very much the iconic MAC blush Pinch Me.  It’s a very pretty nude rose shade to be worn to work. I also pair it with smokey eyes.

The texture is very drying and matte. Please ensure the lips are well hydrated before application. It can get a bit draggy draggy while application. Though it’s well pigmented, requires 2-3 swatches to show up well on my lips.

But once applied the lipcolor just stays for hours without getting transferred. Lightens after the meals but the stain persists. In fact the transfer levels are almost zero.

The lip color is amazingly light. I feel I have nothing on my lips. Feels extremely natural to get a velvety finish. Doesn’t settle on lines either.

Though matte, if I hydrate my lips well the previous night, it doesn’t feel stretchy. Though I feel during a bad lip day it would accentuate the imperfections.

The packaging is sleek and convenient. The best part is that unlike most of the lip crayons available in the market it comes in twister form. Thank god!!!......else I hate the shapeable ones. This also has a sharpener fitted at the other end which is to sharpen the nib, if required. As it comes in a pencil/crayon format I can easily use it to line my lips and then fill in. As a result I can skip any additional lip liner.

Pros:
  1. The range has a vivid shades to choose from
  2. Shade 23 is pretty muted dusty rose color which is highly recommended for a day/office make up
  3. Non transferable
  4. Completely matte
  5. Last a long on the lips
  6. Twister packaging with no sharpener involved
  7. Lip liner can be skipped
  8. Applies evenly
  9. Light weight on lips
Cons:
  1. Very drying in texture (this may not be always reflected if lips are hydrated well before application)
  2. Can accentuate lip imperfections
  3. Requires a lip balm underneath
  4. Expensive
Overall Recommendation:

Inglot Matte AMC Lip pencil/ Crayon 23 is a dusty rose shade with ultra-matte finish. The perfect matte finish is the high point of this product. It’s neither powdery or settles in lines. Gives a velvety super light finish. It will suit all complexions and is a very good rosy neutral shade for dusky women. The packaging is equally delightful. The cost is the only factor that would betray the intensions of buying it. Else you are not going to lament post purchase. Though I feel this is not a very unique shade and I am sure we can find its dupe in Lakme 9-5 range!
