Review of Online Shopping Website “The Elephant Company.Com”

Till today I have not really understood what does the line imply……or probably the song is nothing but a premonition of “The Elephant Company” & its products!!! How cute is that name…The Elephant Company, while Mr. Husband till date doesn’t understand why I find the name cute??!!!

What I Ordered:

What do you think I would have ordered during rains….a monsoon basic- an umbrella!! An umbrella with loads of elephant prints. To be more precise I purchased a Black Flying Elephants 3 Fold Umbrella.

Order Process:

The order process was very smooth. They have an option of COD as well to majority of the pincodes at a cost of INR 99.  Although I opted for internet banking as The Elephant Company is a trusted online shopping site and I had read good reviews about them on other blogs. Once the payment was made, I received an order confirmation mail in my mail box. It had complete details of my order. What more expected was probably an order tracking link which the mail lacked. Though one can check the order status by logging in the account on the website.

Order Receipt & Packaging:

I received the order within 5 days which was before the expected timelines and hence, impressive. The parcel came with a very cute packaging- their signature branding! The product was safely packed in layers and the shipping resulted in no damage at all. Joyous!!

Product Review:

I have very mixed feeling about the umbrella I had received. It’s a three-fold umbrella. They had it in 2 fold too but I wanted something which was more compact that could come inside my laptop cum handbag. It fitted comfortably inside my handbag.

Coming to the looks, the elephant print made the umbrella look very attractive and feminine…..Now recall the song that I sang in the beginning!!

In the midst of all these, I feel the quality of the rims or the fabric isn’t up to the mark and the umbrella looked a bit weak to sustain strong winds. But on a normal rainy or even sunny day it did its job well. Also the topmost knob of the umbrella was too hard for my strength and I need to put an extra effort to open it.

Overall Experience:

While the shopping experience and product range was very impressive and so was the umbrella, I wish the quality was a bit better for the price of INR 625.
