Review and Swatches of NYX – The Caribbean Collection- “I Dream of St. Lucia”

I was watching “The Pirates of the Caribbean” the other day for the nth time and every time I come across “Captain Jack Sparrow” I absolutely go ga ga over Mr. Johnny Depp. I know this was totally unrelated by how can I miss mentioning him if I am even thinking of something called “Caribbean”. Well, the moment I visualize “Caribbean” I am floated with the visuals of blue sea, green coconut trees, yellow sand, orange sky and purple beach flowers. So does the NYX- Caribbean Palate- I dream of St. Lucia, colors reflect!

No of shades: Five

Variants: They have an exhaustive range of palates under this Collection (10 combinations) and inspired by the islands of this region. Below is a snapshot of the same that I picked from the internet.

Price: INR 636 (Though even, it sounds odd for an MRP)

My verdict: As I am fond of bright color and I picked up “I dream of St. Lucia”. Also it’s impossible for any girl to not have dresses of the colors in this palate. And thus, this was my pick. Also these colors are so ideal for summers to give that “Tender Coconut” fresh look.

Each shade is rich in pigment, well balanced shimmer and glamour. The shadows are cool toned and I assume will look very beautiful and prominent on girls with fairer skin color.

For the dusky beauties it will do an equally good job if applied subtly.

Colors from Left:

  1. Light pressed green with slight shimmer frost
  2. Vibrant sea blue with slight shimmer frost
  3. Cool toned yellow with slight shimmer frost
  4. Cool toned pink with slight shimmer frost
  5. Warm orange with slight shimmer frost

Pros:

  1. Vibrant colors
  2. Will look good in all skin tones
  3. Decently priced
  4. Available online
  5. Sleek & convenient packaging

Cons:

  1. Falls out and needs a base for long lasting

Below are few pictures of me with the pink + orange + yellow hues on my eyelid (This was on my way to office..

moreover I have conservatively applied it over my lid as I was dressed up for work).
