Review and Swatch of Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick- 009 Blamed Blue

“If you read this post every Monday, I can guarantee you can overcome your weekly Monday Blues.” Silly isn’t it?

But I swear by it. Not about reading this post, but wearing the shade “Blamed Blue”.

I bought it from   Nykaa.com.  Guess it’s currently out of stock. But I have noticed the availability update as on when the stock gets replenished.

Internationally, Rimmel has 9 shades in the Scandaleyes Shadow category. On Nykaa, I have come across only 4 shades. So assume we have ONLY 4 out here in India, who loves colors. Irony!!  Even these 4 are scarcely available.

Company Claims:

High impact colour Precision tip applicator Ultra soft formula glides on smoothly High-shine and luminous finish.

Price: INR 415 per 3.25 gm

Shelf Life: 3 Years

My Verdict:

Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick Blamed Blue is a pretty bright Teal Blue shimmery shade. W.r.t the color I would categorize it between teal and turquoise. The eye shadow is well pigmented. It looks very compatible with warm skin tone. On the lids or in the pencil, the color is the same.  I would say it would suit all types of undertone. The shimmers are muted and the overall look comes out to be vibrant but pretty.

The shadow comes in a pencil format, very similar to Clinique Eye Shadow Chubby Stick or Lakme Absolute’ Drama Stylist Eye Shadow Crayon. I have refrained myself till now, from getting the Lakme ones as it’s almost double the rate.

Anywas these crayons, need to be sharpen which doesn’t appeal me.

The pencil goes very smooth on eyes. The shade can be worn as an eye liner or as a base for a smokey blue look or can be worn all alone. Have not braved so far and experimented it on the waterline. But if I ever do, then I shall update this post about its repercussions, if any.

The lasting power is also very good. Doesn’t crease if applied over the lid by itself. Suggest a primer underneath. When used as a liner, stays intact without smudging or fading for 8-9 good        hours and then slowly lightens or needs a touch up.

I am totally bowled by this product. As a result I am keeping a close watch on Nykaa for the availability of other shades.

Pros:

  1. Pretty blue shade that will suit all skin tones
  2. Shimmers are muted which makes the shadow vibrant and pretty at the same time
  3. Can be used in multiple ways
  4. Decently priced as compared to its likes from Clinique and Lakme
  5. Travel friendly
  6. Good for long wear
  7. Doesn’t smudge or crease

Cons:

  1. Availability is a big concern
  2. Sharpening leads to product wastage
  3. Doesn’t come with a sharpener

Over all Recommendation:

Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick Blamed Blue is very beautiful shimmery teal blue shade that will flatter all skin tones. The shimmers are muted that makes it wearable even during the day. The shadow can be used in multiple ways. The texture and the other attributes like longevity, anti-smudge properties are also very promising. I am looking forward to buying other shades as well, specially, Bad Girl Bronze.
