Reviewing Body Shop Rainforest Balance Shampoo for Oily Hair

Reviewing Body Shop Rainforest Balance Shampoo for Oily Hair

One of my most remembered TV ad jingles is “Ghane mulaayam kaale baal, khile khile matwaale baal”!!!So far in my life I have tried quite a few shampoos if not many, to achieve the ultimate result sung in the jingle. Starting from Clinic Plus, Selsun, Sunsilk, Garnier, L’oreal Professionals, Tesseme, Dove and homemade “reetha sheeka kai neem”. The last one giving me the undisputedly best results. Unfortunately, once I was away from home, I no more had dear mommy near me to grind those natural ingredients every time before wash. So I my quest towards organic shampoo ended at Body Shop Rainforest Balance Shampoo for Oily Hair.

Key Ingredients: Pracaxi oil, White nettle, Seaweed and Aloe vera

Company Claims: Reduces excess oil from hair to make it look clean and fresh all day

Price: INR 695 for 200 ml

Other  Body Shop Rainforest Variants:  Shampoo for Normal to Dry Hair, Shampoo for Shine

My Verdict: I promise I won’t use any other shampoo. It’s the best I have used so far. I can vouch on it that it’s suitable for everyone who has oily hair. It is so gentle and mild that every time I wash my hair I just lose 2-3 strands of hair only. I always oil my hair before washing. Due to this I have to go through at least three washes to get rid of all the oil. In spite of this I don’t have to use any conditioner. Girls with dry hair can follow with a conditioner. My hair length is up to my waist. Product required for every round of wash is two coin sizes. The shampoo is transparent, with medium consistency and has a very very mild fragrance

Post wash, my hair feels so soft and shiny.  The shine remains for 3-4 days.  I wash my hair twice a week.

Pros:

  1. Absolutely organic
  2. Very mild on hair
  3. No hair fall on washing
  4. No animal testing
  5. Mild fragrance
  6. For me, I don’t require a conditioner post the wash
  7. Adds shine to your hair
  8. Convenient packaging with a flip flop top

Cons:

  1. Only the price, nothing else I can think of.
  2. They don’t sell small 50ml bottles, say for the first time users

Will I repurchase: Of course, a bigger bottle this time
