Review and Swatch of MAC Matte Lipstick Taupe

Life is most beautiful when you are with your family discussing your childhood anecdotes over the breakfast and having the heartiest laugh reminiscencing the old times. (spent my superb Weekend at my uncle-in-law and aunt-in-law's place in Navi Mumbai, listening to my Man's childhood antiques). It’s those simple things that we enjoy and remember. One such simple and beautiful aspect is MAC Taupe.

Price: INR 990 (when I bought it), now its INR 1190

Shelf life: 3 years

My Verdict:

MAC Taupe is a gorgeous medium intensity brown shade. It’s my HG neutral shade. Whenever I don’t want a complicated look, I opt for neutral color, and it has to be MAC Taupe. Caramel brown that’s perfect for my NC 42 complexion. It’s very flattering for all skin tones but in its best for olive or further warmer skin tones. I get a full natural looking lip pout whenever I wear it.

The lipstick though being matte gives a creamy application. Superbly opaque, 1-2 strokes and you are good to go. The matte is from MAC Chilli family. Final appearance is matte but surprisingly creamy. Lips don’t feel utterly dry. Also MAC Taupe doesn’t settle into lines or turns powdery.

Being matte finish also ensures superb longevity on the lips. It lasts 5-6 hours on my lips including coffee sips and lunch breaks. Post the 7^th hour it starts fading, and might require a touch up. I skip it as the stain is enough to last me for the rest of the day.

The packaging is standard MAC bullet packaging and essence is Vanilla.

Pros:

1. Amazing neutral brown shade with reddish undertone
2. Perfect matte finish
3. Matte but not drying
4. Superb staying power

Cons:

The price, nothing else!!

Recommendation:

If you ask me for perfect brown shade for daily wear, I would unanimously declare it to be MAC Taupe. A must have for dusky/ warm skin toned girls.  Do I need to say more!!
