Colorbar Take Me As I am a Lipcolor- Mysterious Nude

Its a day to for the year to end. And I still don’t have anything planned for tonight. I have always done house parties for new year’s eve as I enjoy them the most.  So I have never really told my the-then boyfriend (& current husband)“Take me home as am I high on beer”.  But Color bar is all screaming with that kind of line with their Lip Crayon Series.

I know the name sounds a bit suggestive, but they are good way to receive attention and get the eye balls rolling.

Company Claim: Take me as I am lip color is a unique multifunctional product which provides the application of a lipstick combined with the convenience of a pencil in a jumbo crayon design. It is an extra creamy and soft feeling lipstick formula with excellent color pay-off and coverage. Viscous oils and esters create the beautiful shine. Skin conditioning ingredients like Shea butter and vitamin E further enhance the comfortable wearing properties. Be worry-free, take this gorgeous pencil and create the prettiest lip – creamy, ready for shine and flirty fun. It comes in 8 shades.

My Verdict:

Colorbar Take Me As I am A Lipcolor in Mysterious Nude is a terracotta brown shaded lip crayon. It’s very similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks or other Lip Crayon Brands in the market. It comes in sharpen-able wooden body. This is the bad part of lip crayons, where in a lot of product gets wasted during sharpening the pencil. Thankfully the company provides a big sharpener along with the lipstick.

The shade looks exactly resembles a light terracotta tile. It’s a pretty neutral shade for daily day/ office wear, but not be a universal ones. This would invariably look good on fair skin. On warmer skin tone it might look a bit washed out. In spite of that fact, I wear it to work when my eyes are on focus.  The color is similar to my skin tone and as a result I often look lipless.

The texture is very smooth and creamy and glides beautifully on the lip even without a lip balm. The color payoff as claimed, is excellent with one swatch to give an opaque look. As long as the lipstick stays on the lip it hydrates the lip well. Doesn’t feel dry or stretchy. The color appearance is not ultra- lustrous but for a lipstick, it’s very good. It also doesn’t bleed or settle in fine lines.

I am not at all impressed by its staying power. The color is highly transferable and comes out like a print leaving a gap in the lip. Over all its stays for 3-4 hours with 1-2 coffee intakes. Doesn’t last meal.

Pros:

  1. Soft and Smooth texture
  2. Well pigmented
  3. Good neutral shade for fair tones
  4. Creamy and hydrating
  5. Can be used without a lip balm
  6. Doesn’t settle in line
  7. Comes with an external sharpener

Cons:

  1. May look washed out for warm tones
  2. Very Poor staying power
  3. Sharpening leads to product wastage
  4. Super expensive

Overall Recommendation:

Colorbar Take Me As I am A Lipcolor in Mysterious Nude is a terracotta brown shaded lip crayon which will by default flatter fairer skin but is not blindly recommended for dusky girls. Though the texture is very smooth and creamy, the staying power and sharpening activity makes it a complete nay for me. In case you are ok with doing touch ups and do not mind sharpening the crayon every now and then, go for it. For me I don’t think I am going for any of its other variants.
