Reviewing Fab India Sesame Oil

Three things all Bongs are born with - Good skin, beautiful hair and a harmonium. I feel blessed and love my genes for inheriting the former (considering I have never had acne or pimple problems) two qualities but ironically not the latter. Unfortunately unlike my folks, I have a typical Rani Mukherjee kinda voice which makes you feel that someone has just rubbed my throat with a sand paper.

Luckily neither I have the talent nor do I have to write a blog on Music but rather on my newly generated interest in beauty and products related to it.

This is my first post in this forum and hence, I decided to write on the flagship product of all Bongs- Oil. In India there are two communities majorly who love to dip themselves in this wonderful liquid- Bongs and Mallus.

But unlike the local favorites, i.e., Mustard Oil or Coconut Oil, I love to apply Sesame oil on my face. So here I review the Fab India Sesame Massage oil.

Key Ingredients: Sesame Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E) Castor Oil & Soyabean extract

Price: INR 350 for 200ml

My verdict: I am in love with this oil. Though it’s branded as massage oil it’s completely safe and sound to be used as face oil. I generally have dry to normal skin. Rather a hell lot dry in the mornings!!! That’s why it’s my night cream!  This might sound weird to you believe me, it gives amazing results in the morning when my skin looks super hydrated and subtle. I can also make out the glow on my skin.  As a night cream it may not be too pleasing you’re your partner. My husband has nicknamed me as “Paapad”.

It has light consistency and smells good. Castor oil is supposed to be good but being a heavy oil it needs to be mixed with other ingredients in order to dilute it. People with oily skin can apply a coat and then wipe off the excess oil.

Apart from using it as a night cream, I gently massage my face with this oil in the night, twice a week and then thoroughly wipe it off with a warm towel and follow the CTM routine barring the cleansing as I have already cleansed my face with the sesame oil.

Benefits of Sesame oil for Skin:

  • On the skin, oil soluble toxins are attracted to sesame seed oil molecules which can then be washed away with hot water and a mild soap. Thus, you can use it as a makeup remover.
  • Is used against sunburn
  • Gets absorbed really quickly

Pros:

  • Sleek packaging though a flip flop cover would have been more comfortable
  • Effective and smells good
  • Totally organic
  • Pocket friendly

Cons:

  • Unlike Forest essentials Sesame Oil it’s not a virgin oil but contains a mixture of other ingredients
  • Doesn’t mention whether it’s cold pressed or not.

Will I repurchase: Of course YES.
